The analysis quickly points out weak and strong points in the performance of the operation. The gap chart can also be used to establish project goals. For example, in the figure, the inner ring may represent the current performance of an operation. Another ring may represent the goals of a reengineering project. The goal ring should be at or near world-class performance.
