To assist our clients in mak ing this determination, we developed the RightStore Pallets Optimization System, which computes the lowest-cost storage/retrieval alternative for each item in the warehouse, taking into consideration the cost of space, labor, racking, and equipment. An example analysis from a recent client engagement is provided in Figure 5.48 (see also Figure 5.49). The Right Store™ solution yielded $847,000 in annual savings; a 28% reduction in total storage cost.
