The combined effects of horizontal honeycombing (a) – the loss of storage capacity in front of the most rearward stacks – and vertical honeycombing (b) – the loss of storage capacity on top of existing stacks – yields very low effective net storage density if lane depths are not optimized. RightChain™ Pallets was employed to optimize the client’s lane depths in more than 200 warehouses and distribution centers; more than doubling warehouse storage density and yielding CAPEX avoidance well into in the $tens of millions.
