In transportation I'm trying to minimize the transportation cost connecting these sources of supply with these customers with this amount of inventory at the lowest possible cost and finally I get to the warehouse and the warehouse is last because if I do a good job in these other four areas I may figure out a way to eliminate the need for it or minimize the need for it or outsource it. So in here when we talk about logistics what we're talking about is the flow of material information and money between consumers and suppliers. It will include the five activities customer service, inventory management, supply, transportation, and warehousing.
